Im sorry, I love J*Davey. They are independent artists that need to be recoknigzed for their style and also their beautiful music. Their fashion sense is like Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix 70's style and 90's style mixed together. I love thier free spirit. So Should you. Look out for them the peace & love generation is coming alive AGAIN.

Before You My Life Was Acapella
Acapella, The first single from international singer Kelis from her upcoming album Fleshtones due out June 22nd, 2010 in the United States. Acapella is a song dedicated to Kelis' son from her marriage with Nas. The song shows the affection and love that Kelis has for him. I feel that it is a beautiful song and the video really ties in the elements and has beautiful imagery. The video was directed by John "Rankin" Waddell and Chris Cottam. The imagery shows how Kelis always a trendsetter from the beginning of her career to now she has progressed more into a mature singer.
I feel that the style that Kelis shows is one-of-a-kind. There is no one that would wear Alexander McQueen's headwrap and an indian bridal nose ring in the same video. This video is very different and something that I could watch time and time again.
GROUPTHINK
Groupthink, to define ones self as an individual. I feel everyone should join this movement. We should not let people define us. We are more important than that. The world is becoming very basic and being categorized. As knowing what someone is by apperance and who you may surround yourself with. We should change this one individual at a time. Erykah Badu I have joined the GROUPTHINK movement. Everyone go buy Erykah Badu's album New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) March 30, 2010. May we as people be evolved.
"They play it safe or are quick to assassinate what they do not understand. They move in packs injusticing more and more fear with inacting hate on one another. They feel most comfortable in groups less guilt to swallow. They are us this is what we have become, afraid to respect an individual as single person within a circumstance can move on to change. To love ourselves. To evolve." - Erykah Badu

Acoustic Style
Prince,
I remember as a child on a hot summer day driving around with my mother listening to Prince. There are millions of songsthat my mother played but, the ones that are embeded in my mind are "Lets Go Crazy" and "Purple Rain", which are two of my favorite songs by Prince. I have always seemed to like Prince. His music and style is very innovative and still has a rock feel to it. Prince's Style is different from everyone else in his genre of music. Although, he is a rock singer songwriter and musician. He is not afraid to step out of the mold of every rock artist looking tough in all black playing there guitars wildy and out of control. Prince is not afraid of wearing high heel boots with a well tailored suit. I feel that this a step in fashion that people have yet to grasp.

LEE ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
MARCH 17, 1969-FEBRUARY 11, 2010
Lee Alexander McQueen the greatest Avant-Garde artist of our time.
Little to disbelief I believe that Alexander McQueen was an artist. From his out of this world make-up and magnificent dresses. Alexander McQueen was one of the only fashion designers to really accent a womens body and also show a womens effeminate and rigid side at the same time.
Alexander McQueen's last known collection to man has just surfaced into the fashion world. Although, the line was supposed to be presented at Paris Fashion Week it was shown in a private show room. For the public to see in a quiet and sirene setting. I believe this was the best way for it to be shown. Art work should always be shown quietly like an exhibit. While looking at the pictures you see Alexander mcQueen's detail. From angel like colors and similar paintings in the dress that we see in an art exhibit or on the walls of the eldest buildings in Old England. Alexander Mcqueen shall forever live in his art work. For Lee Alexander McQueen was an inspiration to us all, especially me. Alexander McQueen has opened the door for men like me to show that we know how to design a dress for a woman just as well as any woman designer.

SPRINGING INTO FASHION
Today officially marks the beginning of spring break for Alik and I. Along with the beginning of spring is also the beginning of many new spring fashion trends. Some of my favorites would have to be the military influenced look, plaid styles, ripped jeans (yes they are back and bigger than ever), jumpsuits, floral & tribal prints, big bows, and many other trends but I had to narrow it down or I could have went on for days. So let's take a look at MY top six fave trends.
- Military: This army inspired look is going to be hot this spring and this summer. When I saw Rihanna's video "Hard" I knew this was going to be a trending fashion topic. This trend could go both ways for males and females, and you could also do alot of different looks with this, like making it more girly with different accessories and jewelery or handbags. You could even wear a dress or heels with this. I love a mix of masculinity and feminity.

2. Plaid: At first I wasn't too sure about this look but it grew on me. Plaid is so versatile thats why I believe I like it so much. You could pull anything off with plaid now. Button down shirts, skirts, jackets, pants, dresses anything. It could also be dressed down or styled up.

3. Ripped Jeans: This probably would be my favorite style out of all of them. There's nothing like a good pair of ripped jeans for any occasion if you ask me ( not ANY). For the most part this is a casual look but you could put on some heels with the right pair of ripped denim jeans and pull it off for a night on the town or just for simply going out.

4. Jumpsuits: This trend makes me feel like a little kid all over again...I love this style especially the short jumpsuits. It's so simple but stylish at the same time. You could belt it, wear flats or heels, accessorize it and your on the go. It doesn't take much to make this style work and I'm sure a lot of people will be rocking it this season!
5. Floral & Tribal Prints: Big flowers and bright prints make any outfit more fun and springy, just as earthy colors and geometric prints. I am seeing both of these styles everywhere I go. Solids are so out of here, its time to print your wardrobe up! With things like tribal and floral scarfs, handbags, clothing, jewelery, and even shoes.
6. Big Bows: Last but not least the big bow trend. LOVE IT!....Save the little bows for the children but the big bows saw fashion all the way. This goes for head bows and bows on your clothing. The key to this style is big big BIG...Oversize is necessary the bigger the better..Go big or go home!

Lady Gaga & Beyonce:Telephone= Iconic Fashion
Iconic Fashion For Gaga that is. Her avant-garde fashion ideas never fail.
From the beginning of the short film with the black and white stripe dress I was intrigued. The next outfit/costumes of the caution outfit, the dinner at tiffany's, the blue telephone head dress, the yellow telephone hair wrapping, cheetah print bodysuit and the air driven white dress. I love how Gaga and Beyonce used each other to advantage. Gaga used her crazy outfits and banging voice to give the video life.
With Lady Gaga using the films such as Kill Bill, Thelma & Louise and several other films for her continuance from her first short film Paparazzi. I believe that Beyonce added her style and grace to the short film too.Beyonce used her wig from videophone to bring a different look. She revolutionized her way through the film. My favorite verse is by Beyonce (FYI). I only looked at this video for Avant-Garde outfits that I knew were going to be used. Lady Gaga is the epitome of Avant-Garde. Im sure that the fashion gods are proud of her. I give this short film 5 stars. "MMHMM Honey Bee!" - Lady Gaga
